Each scene is a combination of building sketches, Tim burton’s own cartoon artworks and real life landscapes. This is reflective of Burton’s film characters which always seem to be on the brink of reality.
Building in context: The model site is placed so that it
blends with the cityscape/ alley way that surrounds it. Its structure is
elevated and is designed to mimic a tree house that is simplistic and childish
as Burton at times appears to be. However the random placement of Burton’s
strange characters in the scene hints at the darker and nonsensical aspect of
his imagination.
